Kevin Wagner, Givsum Superhero                                           Givsum Score: 100

Philanthropist by night, Vice President by day. Givsum Superhero Kevin Wagner has plenty on his plate as Vice President of Strategic Planning & Analysis at the Irvine Company, yet he still looks forward to giving back to the community in his leisure. Whether it’s with his time, energy, or a little positivity – every moment goes towards helping make wishes possible for children with life-threatening illnesses.

Starting with the exposure of numerous nonprofits in the local community from his time with Future Leaders of Our Community (FLOC) and the usage of Givsum, Kevin found himself getting more involved as he began to discover a particular fondness to the mission and team at Make-A-Wish Foundation Orange County & Inland Empire (MAW-OC & IE). A leadership opportunity opened up and without a doubt, he dove in headfirst to spearhead the signature young professional event, “Rolling for Wishes.”

Young Professional events such as “Rolling for Wishes” involve an enormous amount of work and effort involving promotion, silent auction item acquisition, sponsorship and logistics.  Kevin’s leadership and personal devotion to the event has resulted in two years of back-to-back successes in which thousands of dollars have been raised.  Kevin’s passion for the organization and the success of the event has inspired numerous friends to join the cause and support even more wishes.

Kevin regularly uses Givsum not only as a means for event ticketing such as “Rolling for Wishes” but as a tool to learn about upcoming volunteer and event opportunities for young professionals. To put it simply, “Givsum is a helpful tool to stay on top of opportunities and an easy way to make donations.”

Founded in 1980, the Make-A-Wish Foundation is a non-profit organization, which grants wishes to children battling life-threatening illness to strengthen their spirit. The Orange County and Inland Empire chapter alone has granted more than 4,750 wishes since its inception. To learn more about granting or applying for a wish, visit the MAW website. To learn more about the Young Professionals of MAW-OC&IE, to get updates on opportunities, and how you can get involved, visit their Givsum profile.

*How does one become a Givsum Superhero?  When a Givsum user participates in a charity fundraiser such as a walk/gala, volunteers at a local homeless shelter, works to clean up the environment, mentors a child, or simply donates to their favorite 501c3 charity, they become a local hero for their community.  As one tracks their philanthropy on Givsum, and inspires others to do the same, their Givsum Score will grow.  Any Givsum Score above 100 is considered superhero territory and is worthy of celebration.

For a limited time, users with a Givsum Score above 100 can email their score to support@givsum.com and receive a Givsum Superhero mask.  Be sure to include a mailing address!
